Day 7: Return to the Harding Pegmatite Mine.

This has always been one of my favorite stops because there's always so much to find here.

Here Linc is talking about the history of the mine. There's Gilbert Griego, the caretaker for the mine. It's currently under the ownership of the University of New Mexico.
There's Linc next to the main pegmatite zone.
There's yours truly standing next to some of the Yinan sized crystals.
Where'd everyone go? I went off to do some prospecting, found some rare Columbite, and when I got back everyone had disappeared, only their packs were left. Here I found Tim, Warren, Laura, and Margee deep in the mine using my UV lamp to look for minerals.
Another view of the Mine. There's professor Morgan, and the other guy is a reporter.
Professor Morgan, Gilbert, and Jamitto looking at rocks.
There they go again, talking about rocks, with Rada this time.
Posing is an artform, look at the pictures from the previous years, its taken me a while to be able to strike a pose. Putting on the ritz.
Is that the Moo Cow formation?
Yup, must be Laura and her cowdress on Halloween. Oh ya, those are the cabins we stayed at at Ghost Ranch.

Day 8: Return Home

So ya, i got up at 5:15 in the morning. Why? Because I wanted to join Laura and Margee on their early morning hike into Box Canyon. Ya, it was pitch black and I was asking myself, why am I doing this?
Morning hike into Box Canyon.
There's Box Canyon amphitheatre. We sat on a rock and sang songs for a while.
There's Laura and Margee on our singing rock.
This is it without flash, nice sky.
Laura has learned to strike a pose too!
Victory!
It's been a very very long week.

The End.

Back to Selection.
